Free Dreamy Photo Photoshop Filter from Auto FX Software
A Nice Freebie Photoshop Filter or Standalone Application
Auto FX Software has a number of special effect Photoshop plug-ins that I’ve used over the years. One filter in particular,is the Dreamy Photo filter that is part of their Dreamsuite Series product line. I really like the effect of this simple filter, and have used it from time to time with good success. I like the filter to add a colorful glow to certain images, an effect that is difficult to duplicate with consistency in Photoshop (though all the capability is there, this filter is just very convenient!)
A great deal of my photography is that of natural landscapes, but once and a while it’s fun to shake things up a bit. I’ve surprised many at photo competition at my local photo club more than a few times. It’s good to break the rules once and a while. Having tools like special effects filters for Photoshop or Elements will help do the shaking when you want to do something unexpected. I use the Dreamy filter to add unearthly color glow’s to some of my landscapes and flower images.
I’ve always been impressed with the quality of the Auto FX Software filters. My favorite suite is the Mystical Lighting Suite with its 16 lighting effects. The DreamSuite Series has many filters as well, all adding its own special effects flare. Between the two DreamSuite Series, you can get up to 40 filters.
All Filters by Auto FX are either Photoshop and Elements plug in compatible, but are also full feature standalone applications. Auto FX is offering their Dreamy filter for free download on their website. To download the Dreamy filter and process selected photos:
- Go to the Auto FX Software website to download at : http://www.autofx.com/freeplugins/dreamyphoto.asp?id=4
- Install the filter. You can follow the directions how to install as a Photoshop or Elements filter, or use as a standalone application.
As a standalone application, just click on the File button to select an image to load. After the image is loaded, just click on the Special Effects button, and choose the Dreamy filter to apply to your image.
There are over 20 presets you can choose from, or if you feel adventurous, you can adjust the combination of 6 controls, thus creating an unlimited number of different effects yourself.
